Onward Shay 5K, 10K, 1/2, FULL

Whether you run for fun, sport, or competition, this is the race that brings everyone together. Kids, racers, legends, locals and out-of-staters! Boise Marathon takes place October 29th, 2017, at 9AMThe Onward Shay! Boise Marathon is a 5K, 10K, half and full marathon, including a kid’s race as well as relays (and the option to run with some of the biggest legends in the history of running!) We will begin and end in beautiful downtown Boise. The race is certified as a Boston Marathon qualifier. The course follows the greenbelt, a paved path that spans miles of connected parks alongside the beautiful Boise River from one end of the city to the other. Racers will pass by Boise State University before weaving in and out of downtown Boise, past the state’s Capitol Building and then travels through scenic Boise neighborhoods, including Harrison Blvd., Warm Springs Blvd., up 13th St. and through Hyde Park.

Onward Shay’s mission is to honor their dear friend, Shay Hirsch, and everything she stood for, through a fun-filled event that is dedicated to contributing to non-profit organizations.

Onward Shay! Boise Marathon brings together runners from all over the nation. This Boise-based 5K, 10K, half and full marathon uses themes from Shay’s favorite book, the Wizard of Oz, incorporating themes of courage, heart, and bravery, also things Shay possessed during her battle with cancer.

This Boston-qualifier attracts thousands of runners from all over the world thanks to it’s fast, flat course, beautiful location, runner-friendly weather, and great cause.

I think it’s time to either register, or pick up running as a hobby and then register. This is a great opportunity for the whole family and for all your friends. This event is going to be lively with or without you, so you might as well join us! Make room this October for ONWARD SHAY! Register right now!
