Supporting Creatives in Times of Crisis
Especially in times of uncertainty and crisis, creative work matters. This challenging time has exposed our interconnectedness and need for collective expression. The COVID Cultural Commissioning (CCC) Fund is a one-time award program to provide funding for artists, for the creation of individual works exploring, documenting and/or reflecting on personal experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on our community. Many creatives, artists, and performers work in the service industry and are felling the double burn of joblessness and their performance spaces being shuttered. The goals of this fund are to support creative livelihoods during crisis, but also to encourage creative self-expression as we process and document this extraordinary time, working to strengthen and heal ourselves and our communities.
The CCC is a collaborative partnership between Treefort Music Fest, the Velma V. Morrison Center for the Performing Arts and the Boise City Department of Arts and History with members of each organization lending their time and efforts. It is funded by the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Family Foundation, ExtraMile Arena, The Rolph Charitable Fund, the Velma V. Morrison Center for the Performing Arts as well as individual donors.
