    Memorial Day Fun

“Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices.” – Harry. S. Truman

For many of us, Memorial Day just seems like another bonus day off and the blessing of a three-day weekend. However, the true meaning behind Memorial Day is to honor the lives of those who have fallen in service of the U.S. Military. It is a day where we celebrate our freedoms and commemorate the ultimate price that many have paid for our way of life here in the United States. And while it can be a somber day in the remembrance of lives no longer with us, it is also a time for gathering with friends and loved ones and giving thanks and gratitude.

Our fallen heroes fought for our freedoms and it is on this day that we should truly celebrate those freedoms. Whether it’s a BBQ with the neighbors or placing flowers at a gravesite, we should all take a moment to show our appreciation.

But if you are looking for another great way to fill your three-day weekend, stop by the Greenbelt Market for three days of fun!

Greenbelt Market is celebrating Memorial Day with a weekend of art shows, excitement, and balloons! Located at 3472 N. Prospect Way in Garden City, the Market is the perfect place to bike, ride, drive, or walk to with the whole family. This weekend’s celebration caters to every age group—from adult to child—and is a guaranteed good time!

Thursday and Friday: Featuring local artists from 5to 7pm – 10% off Bottle Wine

Saturday: Magic, balloons, and face painting, oh my! This is an especially kid-centric day and will be an absolute win for the whole family! 12 to 3pm
