We Art Women – Coming this April

Boise, ID – In 1995, Rocci Johnson began “Celebration of the Women in the Arts” at Hannah’s at 6th and Main in Boise as a benefit for the Women’s and Children’s Alliance that combats domestic abuse. Teaming up with metal artist, Zella Bardsley, the name changed to We Art Women and the event moved to the Esther Simplot Center for Performing Arts in 2007, and then the VAC from 2008-2011. This event raised over $15,000 for the WCA in its final year, supporting local artists along the way. We intend to carry on that tradition for years to come.

The 2020 Event will take place at Art Source Gallery, 1015 Main St. Boise ID 83702 with a $10 tax-deductible admission. Tickets will be available at the door on April 9, 2020. We invite all of Treasure Valley to join us in the celebration!

“We chose April to hold this event as it is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The Diva’s of Boise will be back to entertain and it’s wonderful to see so many of our local artists and those from out of state involved in this benefit. We are hoping to see a sea of teal at Art Source Gallery for the celebration on the 9th.”

    – Lauren Kistner, We Art Women Chair

2020 We Art Women event will take place on April 11th, with live entertainment from The Divas of Boise and Rebecca Scott & Debbie Sager to name a few in the list of artists that Rocci Johnson has assembled. Enjoy a live auction, silent auction, 8” x 8” panel and Juried Exhibition. Indian Creek Winery, Photo Booth Boise, the WCA and much more will be on site.

Our celebration kicks off April 2nd with a juried exhibition opening and reception with a chance to purchase the art where 30% of sales will be donated to the WCA.

The Artists in the 8” x 8” panel exhibition have created new works to be sold for $50 with a portion of the proceeds for the Women’s & Children’s Alliance, who will be on hand during the event. The invited artist 8” x 8” panel exhibition will be available for PREVIEW on First Thursday, with sales starting at 5 pm for the WE Art Women Celebration on April 9th.
